Squirrel: Preparation

Be proactive and prepare with diligence.

The Squirrel appears in times of great preparation. Like autumn, when the abundance of the woodland sees a flurry of activity, the Squirrel is a sign to spring into action. Preparation takes forethought and work, but will be worth it in the end.

There is a fine balance between being prepared and leaving things up to chance. As in the cycles of nature where animals take their cues from the land and the seasons, you too need to take cues from your surroundings. Remember wild storms can rip through the woodland felling trees, rain can cause river banks to burst, lightning can start fires and many more things can happen in a split second to disrupt the cycle of life. Life is full of curved balls and disruptions to your plans that throw life into chaos. The key to balancing this can often be preparing for the worst while expecting the best.

The Squirrel shows that you cannot always control your circumstances, but you can control how you plan and your response. Focus on what you can control. Be proactive and prepare where you can. Don’t fixate on what is outside your power, instead keep moving forward. Now is the time to hone your efforts and apply yourself. Just as the Squirrel has its hoard of nuts for the lean times, think about what you can collect and store, to help you navigate any chaotic times you may face.

Maybe you need to make extra deposits into your emotional bank account or that of your loved ones to prepare for times when you may be challenged, distracted or absent. Try to do what you can now. This will help them feel loved and secure in the times you may not be present. Do you need to focus on squirreling away some money in case of leaner times, or to assist with an abundant future? It may be time to prepare for a new venture by upskilling and studying, to help pave the way for your new successes.
