Meet Sharon Olive — Founder & Hat Artist at Burnt Brims

“I want to be a hat artist.”

For years, Sharon Olive searched for that elusive spark—that creative calling that feels like coming home. It wasn’t until the age of 50 that she found it. A casual scroll on TikTok introduced her to the art of hat burning, and what started as a curiosity quickly turned into an obsession. From that first burn, Burnt Brims was born.

Sharon is now a full-time hat artist, breathing life into each brim with hand-burnt floral and botanical designs that reflect both wild spirit and careful craftsmanship. Through custom orders, market appearances, and a growing list of hat burning workshops, she shares not only her art but the joy of creative discovery with others.

Sharon’s work is grounded in the belief that it’s never too late to find your passion. Every hat she burns tells a story—and every workshop she leads invites others to start writing their own.
