Under the guidance of Silversmith Jemica Ostrofski, learn how to design and fabricate textured Jewellery using recycled metals. The basic metalsmithing techniques of mark-making will be explored using various hammers, letter stamps, number stamps and other tools. You will have the opportunity to add your own creative touches to your design along the way while learning key techniques and skills.
The workshop will run for 4 hours during which you will be making 1-2 finished pieces. Choose from a selection of options which include earrings, rings, necklaces, brooches, cuff links, keyrings and more OR design your own sculptural form, buttons... whatever you want to make.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
• Sheet of recycled Aluminium/Copper/Brass
• Additional recycled metals that could be used
• Findings to turn your creation into jewellery/sculpture
• Industrial strength glue
• Apron to wear during the workshop
• Gift Box to store and take home your creations in
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR
• All necessary tools and materials will be provided on the day
• Imagery of any jewellery ideas you might like to draw inspiration from (examples will be provided)
• Pen and paper to take note
• Enclosed shoes
• No loose items of clothing (as they may get caught in equipment)
• Hair tied back
• Glasses to see detailed up-close work (if you need them)
CONDITIONS
This workshop is designed for ages 18 years and over. There is a minimum of 6 participants and a maximum of 12 participants to allow for individual tuition.
