Collection: Jewellery Workshop

Join Jemica and dive into the fundamentals of metalsmithing to create your own unique jewellery, whilst learning the art of metalsmithing.

In 2009 Jemica graduated from the Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art with First Class Honours, after majoring in Gold and Silversmithing and gaining a passion for minimalist sculptural form. Using traditional silversmithing techniques such as hand sawing, soldering, hammer texturing, etching and oxidising, Jemica brings to life her sketched drawings to create statement pieces that can be worn every day, for her independent label Meekz Contemporary Jewellery. Adopting an ethically responsible and environmentally friendly practice, Jemica uses recycled, reclaimed and repurposed materials, transforming the everyday into something unique and beautiful.

“Metal Texturisation has always been an area of interest in my jewellery practice. In 2015 I began teaching the fundamentals of texturisation and patternation across various jewellery forms. The feeling of developing a design, watching it take fruition before your eyes is an exciting process and I just wanted to share the experience with everyone.”
