Saturday 8th Feb 1-3pm - Wind Chimes and Wall Hangings Pottery Workshop
Soak up the creative atmosphere of a working pottery studio and join the studio community of makers. Work under the tutorage of artist Carys Martin to learn the techniques and tricks to creating in clay and to explore the different surface decoration options.
Create The Parts To Make Your Own Talisman Wall Hanging or wind chime.
Your design can be a symbol special to you, cut from a template I have available or each piece hand shaped. You can then roll and cut, pinch and shape (I have cutters and stencils!!) your designs from a lovely cream clay. You can paint and carve your design into clay and decorate, drawing free hand or using stencils, with under glaze and tissue transfer.
I will then carefully dry your piece before its first firing and will clear glaze and fire your piece. It will be ready for collection from the studio in 2-3 weeks. You can then thread your pieces together to create your Talisman Wall Hanging.
Studio Address - Unit 11, 7-9 Grant St Cleveland

"I have attended 2 workshops, the marvellous mugs and today the wind chimes and wall hangings, absolutely loved both! Carys is so friendly and inspiring, even the artistically challenged such as myself end up with a creation to be proud of. Highly recommend" Nicki
"I have been to two workshops with Carys, and the vibe is always wonderful, conversation flows easily, and the creative process flows. I loved both my wind chimes and cauldron and plan on doing more workshops with Carys She is a beautiful creative who has a big heart. I also have a collection of her mugs (a little obsession of mine)." Karine
"I am a support worker for a lady with several disabilities and we just love participating in Carys’ classes. Carys has the most gentle way of explaining pottery to beginners and encouraging others to build up their confidence playing with clay. We look forward to our next visit." Anglea
