Melengal – Patron Saint of Hares
Melengal, the gentle guardian of hares and the wild thicket, stands as a serene figure of protection, fertility, and intuitive wisdom. This handcrafted sculpture honors her timeless role as the silent watcher of moonlit fields, where hares leap through shadow and grass.
Cradling a hare close to her heart, Melengal’s presence radiates peace and devotion. Her flowing hair, crowned with a halo of glazed green light, evokes springtime renewal and the ever-turning cycle of life. Delicate carvings of leaves and winding roots wrap around her form, symbolizing her deep connection to the forest and the creatures within it.
The glaze on this piece contains copper carbonate and titanium, lending more than color—they carry energetic resonance. Copper is associated with the goddess Venus and the heart chakra, offering warmth, vitality, and feminine strength. It is said to amplify energy and conduct spiritual awareness. Titanium, in contrast, brings grounding and strength, forming a protective barrier around the aura. Together, these elements root the sculpture in both tenderness and resilience.
Each line on her robe whispers of ancient stories passed down in twilight murmurs—of safe burrows, vibrant undergrowth, and a world where the sacred feminine meets the untamed wild. Whether placed on an altar, shelf, or quiet windowsill, Melengal watches over the small, the swift, and the unseen.
