The Stone Circle is an online space created by Carys Martin for those who feel drawn to folklore, the changing seasons, creativity, ritual, oracle wisdom, and a deeper connection with the natural world.
It brings together the many threads that have always run through my work - Whispers From The Woods, Keepers of the Wild Lore, folklore and old traditions, botanical wisdom, working with clay, seasonal living, creativity, and the simple rituals that can bring a little more meaning to everyday life.
You don't need to know anything about oracle cards, folklore, witchcraft, paganism, or seasonal traditions before you arrive.
You simply need to be curious.
Follow the Threads
The oracle cards may be where our paths first crossed, but they are only the beginning of the conversation.
Within The Stone Circle, we use the cards as doorways. A card might lead us into an old folktale, the lore surrounding a familiar plant, an ancient landscape, a seasonal tradition, a simple ritual, or something we can create with our own hands.
At the heart of the Inner Circle is The Turning Year, a growing journey through the seasons.
Together we'll explore the solstices, equinoxes, and traditional seasonal festivals, looking at the history, folklore, archaeology, botanical lore, customs, and beliefs that have gathered around them over generations.
But this isn't simply a place to read about the past.
It's about finding ways to bring some of that wisdom into our lives today.

Throughout the year, you'll find seasonal rituals, oracle spreads, meditations, folklore, recipes, botanical practices, traditional crafts, and creative projects designed to be experienced rather than simply read about.
Creating in Clay brings another part of my studio into the Circle, with online pottery tutorials and technique videos guiding you through making your own seasonal, symbolic, and ritual objects. You can enjoy working with clay simply for the experience of making or choose to have your creations professionally fired through a pottery service near you.
I'll also join you each week through videos from my studio, sharing oracle guidance, seasonal reflections, stories, demonstrations, rituals, and whatever threads I'm currently following myself.
The Stone Circle isn't about recreating the past or following a rigid spiritual path. It's about exploring with curiosity, taking what resonates, trusting your own intuition, and creating practices that hold meaning for the life you live now.

A Circle Without Borders
I grew up in Cumbria in the north of England, surrounded by landscapes where old stories, seasonal rhythms, farming traditions, superstition, and folklore were still woven quietly into everyday life.
I now live and work on the Redlands Coast of Queensland, Australia, where the seasons speak a very different language.
The Stone Circle grew partly from living between those two landscapes.
It allows us to explore the folklore and traditions of Britain and Ireland while also asking a more interesting question: how do we create a meaningful relationship with the seasons and the land wherever we happen to live?
Whether you're exploring your ancestry, reconnecting with the folklore of Britain and Ireland, embracing your witchy roots, seeking personal growth, longing to create more often, or simply wanting to live a little more intentionally, there is a place for you here.
About The Stone Circle
The vision, writing, artwork, teaching, and content within The Stone Circle have grown from my creative practice as an artist, ceramicist, writer, and teacher.
The technology behind the portal is being created by my son, Jamie, bringing together two very different sets of skills to build something neither of us could have created alone.
Like the seasons themselves, The Stone Circle will continue to grow and change. New stories, seasonal teachings, oracle resources, rituals, videos, crafts, clay projects, and opportunities for connection will be added as the year unfolds.
There isn't really a point at which you finish.
You simply keep following the threads.
