Workshop Policies
Workshop Policies
Thank you for booking a workshop at The Studio at Carys Martin Ceramics. Our workshops are designed to be enjoyable, creative, and welcoming experiences for all participants. Please take a moment to read our workshop policies before booking.
Booking & Payment
Full payment is required to secure your place in a workshop, class, or event.
As places are limited, bookings are confirmed only once payment has been received.
Cancellations & Transfers
If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible.
More than 14 days before the workshop
You may:
- Transfer your booking to another person.
- Receive a studio credit for the full workshop value.
- Request a refund less any booking or processing fees.
7–14 days before the workshop
Studio credit may be offered where possible.
Less than 7 days before the workshop
Unfortunately, refunds or credits cannot usually be provided as materials, staffing, and preparation have already been arranged.
If there is a waiting list and your place can be filled, we will always do our best to assist.
Missed Workshops
No refunds or credits are available for non-attendance.
You are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend if you cannot attend.
Weekly Term Classes
For weekly term classes, we understand that life happens and occasionally you may need to miss a session.
While it is preferable that students attend the class they are booked into, we offer flexibility where possible. Students may attend an alternative class during the current term, subject to availability. All class bookings and transfers are self-managed through our TeamUp class calendar, allowing you to move between eligible classes when needed.
Missed classes cannot be carried forward into future terms and do not qualify for refunds or credits.
We recommend making any class changes as early as possible to ensure suitable spaces are available. Access to the TeamUp calendar is provided upon enrolment.
Workshop Changes
On rare occasions, workshops may need to be rescheduled due to insufficient numbers, illness, or unforeseen circumstances.
If this occurs, participants will be offered:
- A transfer to a new date
- Studio credit
- A full refund
Pottery Workshops
Ceramic work requires drying, firing, and glazing time.
Where applicable, completed pieces will be available for collection approximately 4–8 weeks after the workshop. Collection instructions will be provided by your tutor.
While every care is taken, pottery is a fragile medium and occasional cracking, warping, or firing issues can occur during the making process.
Community & Connection
Many people attend workshops on their own. Our studio is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, and we encourage everyone to participate at a level that feels comfortable for them.
Photography
From time to time photographs may be taken during workshops for promotional purposes.
If you prefer not to appear in photographs, please let your teacher know on the day.
Respectful Studio Environment
The Studio is a welcoming and inclusive space.
We ask all participants to treat fellow students, teachers, and staff with kindness and respect so everyone can enjoy their creative experience.
