Crystal Ball Mug - Seeing Eye & Clear Quartz Point

This piece centres around an ancient symbol of vision - the crystal ball.

Carved into the surface of the mug is a raised crystal ball motif. Within it sit faceted crystal forms, and above them a watchful seeing eye - open, aware, protective. It is a symbol of intuition, second sight, and inner knowing. Not superstition. Perception.

The eye does not look outward alone.
It looks inward.

The flowing teal and blue glazes echo water and mist - the liminal space where clarity slowly reveals itself. The gold detailing catches the light like a spark of insight.

Perched at the top of the handle is a natural clear quartz point, left raw in its formation and secured with a gold accent. Clear quartz has long been associated with:

• Amplifying intention
• Mental clarity
• Energetic cleansing
• Focus and heightened awareness

Together, the carved crystal ball, the seeing eye, and the natural quartz point create a piece that speaks of vision - not fantasy, but awareness. The courage to trust what you sense before it is fully formed.

Each mug is wheel-thrown, carved, glazed, and fitted by hand. The quartz point is unique to the piece - formed by the earth long before it found its place here.

These items are handmade at every stage in the making process and so each is unique. From creating the form, to hand making each batch of glaze, to hand carving and hand painting the designs, many variances are found at each stage of the process. Each piece is mindfully created in my studio over a number of weeks, with each finished piece having its own subtle differences. That is the beauty of handmade.
