Close to Earth Women's Retreat
Grounding • Nourishment • Creativity • Connection
9.30am – 4pm
Arrive from 9.15am for a 9.30am start
Join the Close to Earth Collective for a nurturing day held for women in every season of life.
This is an invitation to step away from the demands of everyday living and return to yourself, to soften into your body, calm your nervous system and nourish your whole wellbeing.
Through grounding practices, women's health education, herbal wisdom, intentional ritual and creativity, we'll explore what it means to move with our natural rhythms, the seasons, the moon, our own inner tides, rather than constantly against them. Ancient womancraft meets modern understanding of the body.
The day will unfold slowly, held gently and without rush, with space to learn, create, share and simply be. Come alone or bring someone dear to you; every woman has a place at this table.

Your day
Welcome and grounding circle
We'll begin with an herbal brew, a guided grounding meditation and an opening circle where you'll be invited to set your own intention for the day ahead.
You'll also receive a carefully prepared retreat kit, filled with beautiful tools and botanical offerings we'll use together throughout the day.
Supporting yourself through every season
Women's health naturopath Amanda Trieger will guide us through the cycles and changing seasons of a woman's life, from menstruation through motherhood, perimenopause, menopause and beyond.
Drawing on more than two decades of experience, Amanda weaves together modern science and earth-based wisdom, sharing practical ways to support your hormonal health and nervous system through herbal medicine, cyclical living and everyday nourishment.
We'll explore how our bodies are shaped by natural rhythms, the turning seasons, the phases of the moon, and how understanding these patterns can help us live with greater wellbeing, energy and self-trust.
Reconnecting with the body
Angela Turner of Breath Body Balance will hold a gentle, nurturing experience designed to help us slow down, come home to our bodies and settle into a deeper sense of balance.
Her offering is another chance to pause, receive and listen to what your body has been asking for.
A nourishing shared lunch
We'll gather for a beautiful seasonal lunch, with plenty of time to connect, linger in conversation and simply enjoy being together.
Craft your own herbal tea blend
In the afternoon, you'll craft a personal herbal tea blend to support the season of life you're moving through right now.
Whether you're calling in rest, energy, balance, nourishment, clarity or transition, you'll be guided to choose a blend that feels true to you.
Create a personal ritual vessel
Artist and ceramicist Carys Martin will lead a gentle handbuilding session in clay.
You'll shape a small tea strainer ritual vessel, a handmade object designed to become part of your everyday tea practice, a quiet reminder to pause, breathe and return to yourself.
Personalise your piece with botanical impressions, moon phases, meaningful words or simple symbols. No pottery experience is needed; Carys will guide you gently through the whole process.
Your vessel will stay at the studio to be carefully dried, glazed and fired, ready for you to collect at a later date.
Creating intention and everyday ritual
Throughout the day, Mel Anderson will gently guide us in exploring the intentional use and placement of the things we bring into our lives.
Together we'll consider how an everyday object, a cup of tea or a simple repeated action can become something more meaningful when it's approached with purpose.
Mel will help weave each part of the retreat together, from our botanical blends and self-care practices to the vessels we create, threading them all back to the intentions we want to carry into daily life.
Her guidance will move naturally through the day, helping each woman shape rituals that feel personal, mindful and energetically true.
Closing circle and connection
We'll close our formal retreat at 3pm with quiet reflection, returning to the intention we set at the beginning of the day.
You're then warmly invited to stay until 4pm for bubbles, herbal brews, nourishing treats and easy conversation, a chance to ask questions, connect with the facilitators and other women, and let the day settle in.

Meet the Close to Earth Collective
The Close to Earth Collective brings together four women whose work is rooted in natural wellbeing, creativity, connection and intentional living.
Mel Anderson, Amanda Trieger, Angela Turner and Carys Martin each bring their own knowledge, experience and way of holding space for women. Together, they've created a nurturing circle where women can reconnect with themselves, embrace what makes them unique and feel supported to live with greater intention and purpose.
Mel Anderson
Mel is the founder of Junkyard Gypsies and owner of Close to Earth in Morpeth.
At the heart of Mel's work is a desire to help women recognise and embrace what makes them unique. She creates welcoming spaces that encourage connection, intentional living and a deeper appreciation of the things we surround ourselves with.
Mel believes the way we choose, place and use everyday objects can transform them into meaningful parts of our lives. Through intention and mindful use, even the simplest action or object can carry greater personal and energetic significance.
Throughout the retreat, Mel will help hold the flow of the day, weaving the different experiences together and encouraging each woman to carry her intentions into everyday life through simple, meaningful rituals.
Amanda Trieger
Amanda is a women's health naturopath, speaker and facilitator with more than two decades of experience supporting women through their hormonal cycles and the changing seasons of life.
As the founder of Naturopathic Womancraft, Amanda brings together modern science, herbal medicine and cyclical, earth-based wisdom. Her work helps women understand their bodies, nervous systems and natural rhythms, so they can move through life with greater wellbeing, clarity and self-trust.
Angela Turner
Angela is an intuitive bodywork and healing practitioner whose work includes massage, breathwork and Reiki.
Through Breath Body Balance, Ange creates nurturing experiences that invite women to slow down, reconnect with their bodies and listen more deeply to what they need. Her gentle, intuitive approach supports a greater sense of presence, balance and wellbeing.
Carys Martin
Carys is an artist, ceramicist, writer and educator whose work is inspired by folklore, seasonal rhythms, creativity and our relationship with the natural world.
Through Carys Martin Ceramics, her oracle decks and The Stone Circle, Carys creates objects and experiences that encourage people to slow down, reconnect and bring greater meaning and intention into everyday life.
You don't need any previous knowledge or creative experience to take part.
Come, give yourself a day to pause, learn, create and be cared for.
