Moon Guardian Folklore Artwork
A guardian between worlds.
A moment of myth held in colour and light.
This evocative folklore artwork portrays a woman standing within the living landscape, arms raised as she releases an owl into the night sky. Above her, the phases of the moon arc across the heavens - waxing, full, waning - marking the eternal rhythm of time, intuition, and transformation.
The owl, long associated with wisdom and otherworldly sight, becomes a messenger between realms. The figure below stands rooted in the earth, her dress flowing into vines and leaves, symbolising the deep connection between land, spirit, and the human heart.
Rich greens ripple across the landscape like breath moving through the earth, while luminous golden moons glow against the twilight sky - a meeting place of light and shadow, seen and unseen.
The painting is presented within an ornate frame cast from an original antique frame, preserving the character and decorative detail of historic craftsmanship while giving the piece a strong architectural presence.
Both artwork and talisman, this piece offers:
• A tribute to lunar cycles and feminine intuition
• Symbolism rooted in folklore and nature spirituality
• A grounding focal point for sacred or contemplative spaces
• A richly detailed piece blending storytelling and symbolism
Perfect for those drawn to mythic imagery, lunar symbolism, and art that speaks quietly but deeply.
Hang where light meets shadow.
Let her guard the turning of your days.
