Woodland Moon Guardian

Height: 30cm

A sculptural altar piece inspired by the old forests and the quiet intelligence of the night.

This hand-built clay vessel forms a circular portal - a symbol of cycles, continuity, and the turning of seasons. A crescent moon rests at the apex, marking the rhythm of lunar time and feminine wisdom.

On one side, a serene woodland figure emerges from the curve of the arch - her hair flowing in spiral forms, echoing ancient stone carvings and the language of old earth symbols. Opposite her, a raven perches on a branch - watcher, messenger, keeper of hidden knowledge.

At the base, oak leaves and fungi cluster around a central candle well, grounding the piece in the forest floor. The oak speaks of endurance and protection. The mushroom of mystery and unseen realms. Together they form a threshold between worlds.

Layered glazes in warm earth, moss greens, and soft bone tones allow texture to catch the light. When a candle is lit within the centre, the glow rises through the portal - illuminating moon, guardian, and bird alike.

This piece functions beautifully as:
• A seasonal altar centrepiece
• A moon ritual candle holder
• A sacred shelf sculpture
• A grounding meditation focus

Wheel thrown and hand-built. One of a kind.

For those who feel called to the forest at dusk - to lunar cycles, ancient symbolism, and the quiet power of watchful guardians.

These items are handmade at every stage in the making process and so each is unique. From creating the form, to hand making each batch of glaze, to hand carving and hand painting the designs, many variances are found at each stage of the process. Each piece is mindfully created in my studio over a number of weeks, with each finished piece having its own subtle differences. That is the beauty of handmade. These photos are a representation of the piece from this collection you will receive.
